I’m trying my best to stay awake. It’s only 1:30 in the afternoon and my eyes are drooping, my body confused with the time change. I hate this feeling. We arrived home yesterday around 4:30pm after a 10 hour plane ride from Orlando to Manchester followed by a 5 hour drive back to Scotland. It doesn’t usually take 5 hours, but by this point we had been awake for a full day and had to make frequent stops for caffeine and power naps. Why is sleeping on a plane so hard? I shouldn’t feel tired today. I managed to sleep from 9 o’clock UK time last night until 10 this morning, that should have been more than enough, but jet lag is a strange thing. My body doesn’t know what’s going on. You would think after six years of trans-atlantic travel, I would be able to beat jet lag, but I haven’t found any trick to eradicate it completely.
Do you have any tips on how to beat jet lag?
Despite the jet lag, I enjoyed every minute of the much-needed vacation.
I’m already missing my family.
Reading on the beach
Disney World
and the warm Florida sunshine
Not to mention the roller coasters
amazingย food
and yummy desserts every day
I don’t think my waistline could have taken one more day of rich food though. It’s back to reality on Monday with work, writing, and deadlines. (and a diet) Vacation is officially over. ๐
Have you been on vacation recently? Where did you go?
Welcome home, my friend (even though you technically are farther away now ๐ ). I’ve missed you, but it sounds like you had an amazing time, and some much-needed recuperation was gained (the jetlag is a blip, really). Best of luck getting back into the swing of routine, but keep the memories of free-spiritedness close to your heart as you do.
Thanks,Vaughn ๐ Missed you too! Hopefully it won’t take too long to get back in a routine. How have you been?
Nice pics. Now that you’re back, go to bed at your normal UK time and get up as normal. That’s the only way to beat jet lag. Your body will be back to normal in couple of days.
Welcome back.
Thanks, Emma! Going to bed nice and early tonight. I’m sure I’ll be back to normal soon.
